ANTON u3a QUESTER’S GROUP : VISITS TO FULHAM PALACE

VISITS TO FULHAM PALACE

 Thursday 18TH and Monday 22nd September 2025

Following the successful tour of the visit to Wells Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace in 2024, we have made arrangements to travel by minibus to Fulham Palace, the former home of the Bishops of London.  The plan is to take a guided tour of the Palace in the morning, followed by lunch in the cafeteria, and a guided tour of the riverside gardens in the afternoon. Because of the large number who expressed interest initially we are repeating the tour.

If you are interested in going on this trip please contact Chris, saying whether you would be free on either date, or which date would suit you best.

As this is some way ahead, we are only asking for expressions of interest at this stage. Payment of £24 per person, to cover both minibus and the two tours, will be asked for nearer the time.

Interested, or any queries?          Please contact Chris Coffin  –  kriskoff@gmail.com

Photography Group May Meeting

The Group met at 10:15 a.m. on 21st May  with the theme ‘Odd Angles’.

Only 3 people attended – Brenda Bishop sent her apologies but had posted her pictures to Anjie Sargeant so that they could be reviewed.

Best picture was awarded to Ann Hawke for a distant view of the cranes’ angle in Felixstowe docks with contrasting angles of yachts in Bawdsey marina.

June’s original theme was ‘Golden Hour’ but, after some discussion, it was decided  to put that back to October when a later sunrise and an earlier sunset would be more sensible (as the proposed venue was Winchester we three were not happy taking our cameras there at about 9 p.m.!) The new June theme is ‘Street Photography’. The group will go on an outdoor shoot in Winchester on the 9th and hold the meeting on the 16th to review results. The outdoor shoot should provide bonus fodder for themes later in the year.
